Humane Trap Rental (TNR)

You can improve the lives of outdoor cats with Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), the humane and effective approach for feral cats. SMVHS has humane traps available to rent to support those efforts.

How it works:

Traps are available for rent in our main office for up to two weeks with a $50 refundable deposit and a $2 per day rental fee. We will show you how to use the trap and the best way to have success in catching the animal.

Did you know?

Trap Neuter and Release is a nationally recognized program through which free-roaming community cats are humanely trapped; spayed or neutered; and returned to the outdoor locations where they were found. If those locations are deemed unsafe or otherwise inappropriate, feral cats (unsocialized to humans) are relocated to farmyard homes (barn cats).  Kittens still young enough to be socialized, and friendly adult cats, are typically placed in foster care for eventual adoption into homes as companion animals, rather than returned to the outdoors.
