Welcome to SMVHS online!
| Who We Are |
The SMVHS is a private non-profit organization committed to providing shelter and care for homeless cats and dogs. At our facility on Black Road in Santa Maria, we have 23 indoor/outdoor dog runs and a room for 28 cats or kittens. Our adoption facility accepts pets from people who are no longer able to care for them and we work diligently on finding these pets a new, “forever” home. We also have a clinic that provides very low cost spaying and neutering for dogs and cats in our community. Did you know that SMVHS is not affiliated with, nor receives funding from the Humane Society of the United States or the ASPCA? Many people misunderstand and tell us they sent our donations to "headquarters." Please know that our only location is here in Santa Maria and donations sent elsewhere are not shared with us. We GREATLY appreciate your support!! MEET OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, JILL TUCKER Jill Tucker joined our organization in September 2009. She comes to us with lots of experience in animal welfare, non-profit, and fundraising. Please stop by and say hi and get acquainted with our executive director. ![]() Summary of Jill Tucker's Experience Our Pet Project is Under Way...
