Be a Foster Family

The Santa Maria Valley Humane Society partners with foster families in the community. During kitten season we have a need for families to house litters of kittens, or sometimes only one or two young kittens. The fostering time period is generally just one to four months. We provide the necessary supplies: KMR, food, litter. All you need to do is supply the love and a nuturing home. When they are old enough to be separated from the mother we bring them back to our facility to be spayed or neutered and enter them into our adoption program. Your love and care helps kittens to develop their socialization skills and to become adoptable cats.

Occasionally we have a need to place a dog in a foster family if she doesn't kennel well and a home environment is deemed best for her socialization.
